Eustice (WTFF) – A Florida man was arrested after he was found sleeping at a stop sign with methamphetamine pipes in his pickup truck.
At about 7:00 am Tuesday, a Eustice police officer answered a call regarding a suspicious vehicle in the N. Prescott and E. Bates Avenue area.
According to the written statement of the arrest, “a white pickup truck with rubbish in the back was parked at the stop sign,” said the anonymous caller.
The arriving officer found 22-year-old Darren Mercer in his white Dodge truck. He “seemed to be asleep.” Darren is a Florida native.
He had a methamphetamine pipe on his lap. The car was searched and another methamphetamine pipe was found “inside the trunk on the floor.” There was also some weed in the pack of cigarettes. Field tests have confirmed everything, at least tentatively.
Darren was arrested and sent to prison. He was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related paraphernalia. As of Sunday, he remains in prison on $ 2,000 bail.
