A South Florida man was arrested after police said he called a pet store and threatened to open fire on employees inside.
According to the arrest report, 66-year-old Jamie Militana called Puppies and Rescues, located at 8961 Taft Street in Pembroke Pines.
He told his co-worker that he was upset about the puppies he bought from the store on April 5th.
This officer told the police that during the phone call, Militana insulted the police, saying at some point, “I will come to the store and shoot all the employees. I have a shotgun and I will do it. ”
According to the report, Militana repeated this statement several times before ending the conversation.
Shortly thereafter, police reported that Militana’s wife called the store and said that her husband was “just joking.”
Upon learning of the situation, the store owner called the police.
A brief investigation led authorities to Militana, who, according to store staff, was the only customer to buy two golden scribbled puppies this month.
They also admitted that the threatening phone number matched the one recorded for the purchase of puppies.
When approached by the police, Militana told the police that he was extremely disappointed and “overreacted,” but said he had no firearms.
The officers arrested Militana and charged him with falsely reporting an explosive device. The bond was identified by a Broward County judge at $ 15,000.
